Why India should become self dependent for manufacturing in the ODM sector?

The dream of a self-dependent India in the ODM sector can see a daylight, only if there is a sizeable adoption of manufacturing in the ODM vertical of the country.

To achieve that, the ‘Make in India’ initiative by PM Modi has literally fueled the Industry with new enthusiasm and has further enabled it to facilitate investment, improvise skill development, foster innovation, safeguard intellectual property rights and build state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure in the country.

Also to compliment that, India’s very own proficient youth is indeed the human capital that provided a crucial edge, because the productivity of Indian workers is second to none.

Now, given the sheer size and scale of the

Indian market, we at Ekka believe that ODM industry is expected to have a robust future.

Just to give you an insight into this perspective, well… we all know that India is expected to have a digital economy of $1 trillion by 2025, and in the recent few years India have emerged as one of the emerging ground, because India’s export of electronic goods grew at 100 per cent YoY in Q1Y21 contributing to the highest share.

And, In the next five years, the Indian EMS/ODM  market is likely to reach $152 billion, while the global market is expected to reach USD 800.19 Billion by year 2028 .

Thus, it’s not just time, but it’s infact the right time for India to exploit this opportunity and the government has been supportive with its PLI scheme for large-scale electronics manufacturing, the Television makers are hopeful of their ask to for the same, and that’s going to have a huge impact, as it will not only make the Indian ODM industry Atmanirbhar, but will also be a great catalyst towards generating employment.
